Feeling like an Insider:
One way our society has made us feel like "insiders" is by making us feel like we are the selected few available to a scare object or a deal. One way McDonald's has made us feel like insiders is giving us the opportunity to feel like were actually playing the board game "Monopoly" by buying their products, collecting tiny slips of paper on their signature Big Macs, 10 piece Mcnuggets, and large drinks. We forget about how many grams of fat and calories we consume with these meals, as long as we have the chance to collect all the railroads and be a millionaire.
As soon as the ball drops and January 1st hits, the sudden urge to better ourselves and become a "new year, new me" hits the mindsets of people all over the country. To finally get into the gym and become the person we want to be. We feel the urge to tell everyone on Facebook and throughout the work office that this is the year. Feeling like the insider on a special deal to the gym that maybe, just maybe will keep us motivated to stay in and to tell everyone on the progress we have made. The sad fact is this only last until February when the free membership ends along with our motivation.
Remarkable:
Something remarkable that is usually brought up around the ages of 18-20 is tattoos. A conversation starter, something you share on social media, and it makes you feel like you have painted the naked canvas of your body. You are no longer an average human, but your body is a work of art. You feel as if you are different from everybody else. The same tattoo can have a different meaning, making you the remarkable human being.
When it comes to McDonalds and their Monopoly promotion the increase sales revenue simply based on that game is astronomical. People go to McD simply for the chance of winning free food or something better, yet they often get nothing. It is the slim chance that they could win big with every sticker they peel that has people coming back for more.
